Indigo blue has always facinated me. I have believed it to be a cross between deep blue and purple.
According to Wikianswers, historically indigo blue was called Royal blue. When Indigo dyes were first brought to Europe from India in the Middle Ages, it was so expensive that only royalty could afford it. It was a punishable crime(perhaps death) to be caught wearing indigo if you weren't royalty. Good thing that isn't true today with everyone who has a pair of blue jeans(made with indigo dye) in their wardrobe. We would all be arrested and would not be able to enjoy the beautiful coast.
Have an Indigo weekend!
Cheers,
Toni
