Food and Fabrics

Nothing like getting into the summer feeling with a tropical drink and tropical colored
modern fabrics. I am trying to decide on a print to replace some drab beige linen on a couple of
wicker chairs I have in the living room. I would thoroughly enjoy kicking back and drinking one of these
fantastic refreshing drinks on one of Quadrille's beautiful contemporary cotton-linen prints in Tangerine or
Sunshine Yellow.

Woodnotes

Who would think that paper could be so beautiful?
 Woodnotes, a company located in Finland,
designs and manufactures products inspired by paper yarns. Founded in 1987 by textile designer Ritva Puotila and her son(who still run the business today) create the colors and textures of goods that every beach house should wrap itself in............................. Check out their new line of rugs, called BEACH.. I love the blue and sand  together.

Summer Stripes

Stripes are everywhere this spring! I always know summer is coming when I see stripes in the marketplace. I miss them soooooo in the fall/ winter months. I love stripes because they are exact,
crisp and move me to a place in my mind of traveling by yacht, through the crisp clear ocean water
to a beautiful island getaway!  Get those stripes out of your closets....

Beach Modern Getaway!

If you have had it with rain or snow or heavy winds or tornados, such as we have had here in the states in the last few weeks, why not go downunder where it is still summer. This beautiful modern resort,

Easter Celebration

I love Easter! A time of family and friends. Some will spend it hunting for eggs, others going to church or brunch with beautiful pastel-colored frocs(like the Ralph Lauren pictured). We will be spending a casual celebration starting at the sunrise service at

Ponto beach. Mark Foreman of NCCC always has an inspiring message. My boys(husband and son) are planning on bringing their boards and wetsuits to jump in the surf after the service. Then off to brunch, with other family, at Ki's restaurant, overlooking Cardiff State beach. They boast oceanviews, casual dining and healthy cuisine. What more could you ask !

Catch the Wave

It seems as though waves are in fashion this spring. You see it on bikinis and dresses and handbags.
Billabong always puts forth great beach fashion at resonable prices, Their new bikini line includes this great  modern wave print.. If you want to ride the waves at any age you can invest in this dress by Peter Pilotto. It's made of pure silk in Wave Blue and sells for  a mere $4420. Or carry the new clutch by Jimmy Choo for $795.
I think they are both very chic.

Tangerine Tango

As Spring arrives we are seeing the color of the year pop up in the fashion industry.

Tangerine tango(Pantones's color of the year) was intermingled with white and more somber colors of khaki and brown and grey in the Spring line 2012 for Michael Kors.

I love this color! It is bright and invigorating and warms your soul after a long cold winter.

The fashion of Michael Kors warms my soul too! Casual yet sophisticated....... and great looks for cooler beach nights as well as hotter beach days.

That blondie with the sunglasses ,my son,  has already added this to his wardrobe and I think I will follow suit and pick up a few pieces to brighten my wardrobe.
